RAISING THE PREMIER BAR
Just another year of selling yearlings at Melbourne Premier?
Not this year! Things are very different in 2011 and the bar has been lifted in many respects.
Firstly, this time around we introduce you to the Magnus yearlings reared at Yallambee.
What’s more, we have the progeny of no less than 15 outstanding stallions represented in our draft.
And, this year the page on every yearling is worth reading carefully given the amount of upgrades since the catalogue was printed.
I’m also extremely pleased with the type, conformation and soundness of the yearlings which is exceptional … especially across such a large group.
All of us at Yallambee are truly excited with what we are going to present to the market.
Yallambee Stud will present 10 yearlings by first season sire MAGNUS.
His yearlings to date have sold very well, topping the Inglis Classic Sale at $170,000, but we have a couple of very serious youngsters in our draft that may just give this price a good shake!
The Magnus’ are very much true to type and this is a very even group of yearlings … you won’t be able to split the fillies and colts. When you’re ‘shopping’, it would probably be simplest to ask me to pull the lot of them out on parade days. And don’t overlook the second session when going through them – there’s a beauty hidden in there that looks to me like a fast racehorse in the making.
GOD’S OWN has had some outstanding 2YOs of late including the stakes placed Vantage and the exciting prospect Homedge. Yallambee has 9 God’s Own yearlings including a half sister to Ortensia … not a bad start! Another very well credentialed youngster is a half sister to Peter Morgan’s cracking filly Cristallo (stakes placed in the spring), while up early in the sale is the first foal of brilliant race filly Hanna Rossa.
Don’t get caught napping when the God’s Own yearlings come through the ring – as many trainers can attest, our faith looks like coming to fruition with some very good horses emerging.
Synonymous with the Yallambee Stud brand and very dear to our heart are 4 yearlings by top 10 sire TESTA ROSSA.
We’ve seen enough of these go through our gates to know what a high standard we have here with all four, including arguably one of the nicest fillies in the entire draft.
Reading like a who’s who, other stallions with progeny in our draft include:
First season sires Casino Prince, Excellent Art, Haradasun and Husson, while the proven stallions comprise of Tail Of The Cat (2), Al Maher, Elvstroem, Encosta de Lago, General Nediym, Lohnro, Show A Heart and just to round them off, Snitzel.
There are some cracking yearlings in this group coupled with strong pedigrees. The most significant feature is the impressive depth of this draft.
As usual at Yallambee Stud you can view our draft with confidence … WYSIWG (what you see is what you get!)
